Zentangling Through The Bible - Book 32 - Jonah

We are up to the book of Jonah in the Zentangling Through the Bible Challenge.  Jonah is book 32 in the bible, which means that next week we are half way, there is 66 books in total.  Wow, what an achievement!

I really wanted to create a tile that was special this week.  In July of 2014 the tomb of Jonah was destroyed in Mosul, Iraq.  CNN advised in a news article (here) that, "this holy site is said to be the burial place of the prophet Jonah, who was swallowed by a whale or great fish in the Judeo-Christian and Islamic traditions.  The tomb was inside a Sunni mosque called the Mosque of the Prophet Yunus, which is arabic for Jonah."  I was so saddened to learn of this destruction, thousands of years of history gone in an instant, we can never get it back.

Knowing this, I really wanted to honor the prophet Jonah with my tile.  Here's what patterns I've used this week:

J - Jeewels by Livia Chua
O - Ona by Jose Meeusen, CZT
N - Nipa by Zentangle
A - Angel Fish by Marizaan van Beek, CZT
H - Hurry by Zentangle

Until next week when we reach half way :)
Stay beautiful

Jonah 1:17
Now the Lord had arranged for a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was inside the fish for three days and three nights.
