Zentangling Through the Bible - Book 5 - Acts

We're up to the book of Acts.  There are so many things in this book I love, my favourite would have to be the arrival of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.  What an awesome day that was!  This week's tile feels pretty busy, there's a lot going on and a lot to look at for such a small space.

I really love the effect I'm getting from my white uni-ball pen. This pen has been the find of my year!!!!  A little mark in just the right place can make the tile pop, I've done some heavy duty highlighting for this tile so let me know what you think.

Here's what patterns I've used this week.

A - Antidots by Anita Roby-Lavery, CZT
C - Chainlea by Norma Burnell, CZT
T - Tipple by Zentangle
S - Sh'rock by Diane Lachance, CZT

If you're joining in on the challenge, please post a link to your tile using Mr Linky's Magical Widget below. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Until next week

Acts 2:1-4
On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. 2 Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. 3 Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. 4 And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages,[b] as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.

Zentangling Through the Bible - Book 3 - Luke

Hi everyone, and welcome to Book 3 of the New Testament, Luke.  I love how this week's tile has turned out, it's really satisfying to look at something you've created and be happy about it, it's very fulfilling.  So often I work on things and think there's always something that needs altering or I wish I had of done some small component differently.  Today's tile though is refreshingly pleasing to my artistic mind's eyes  :)

I'd like to extend a really warm welcome to Suzy Mosh who's joined the challenge.  You can have a look at Suzy's tiles on her blog, (click here to be taken to her webpage).  I particularly love Suzy's colour work, it's really zesty and crisp and I am looking forward to seeing more of her work throughout the challenge.

It's not too late to join us, if you would like to participate, just put a link to where you've posted your tile in Mr Linky's Magical Widget below.  You can be posting to Picassa, Instagram, Twitter, Flickr, your blog or wherever, we just want to see your tile!  This week we're up to Luke so try to create a tile using Zentangle Patterns that begin with the letters of Luke.  Here's what I've used this week:

L - Lazy Eights by Denielle Noe (see Denielle's art blog here)
U - Unyun by Carole Ohl, CZT (see more of Carole's work here)
K - Krli-Q by Margaret Bremner, CZT (Margaret's blog is here)
E - Eddy by Suzanne McNeill, CZT (and Suzanne's is here)

What a talented bunch of artists we are!  I hope some more of you can come on board and join us in this challenge, enjoy the week ahead.  May God bless.

Luke 12:22-24 (The Message)
22-24 He continued this subject with his disciples. “Don’t fuss about what’s on the table at mealtimes or if the clothes in your closet are in fashion. There is far more to your inner life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body. Look at the ravens, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, carefree in the care of God. And you count far more.

Zentangling Through the Bible - Book 2 - Mark

Happy Easter everyone!  We're at Book 2 of the New Testament this week, Mark, as we celebrate Easter Sunday.  I have had an awesome day today, I spent the morning at Church worshipping Jesus, celebrating His resurrection and later my family and I caught up with some friends to enjoy some great food and even better company.  I hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying Easter and a choccie or two.

Onto this week's tile, and to be honest, I am not entirely happy with it.  I am still trying to get the hang of using colour, I'm a novice really, just playing around and trying new things.  I wanted to play with purple for this week's tile, and in doing so, I haven't been able to convey "Kuke" as I had originally planned.  Generally, when I use "Kuke" I am able to create a spherical look through shading, and by using colour the way I have in today's tile, I haven't achieved this.  It was also the first time I've used a white Uniball pen to give highlight and between the two, I definately think there is room for improvement.

Here's the patterns I have used this week;

M - Mooka by Zentangle
A - Antidots by Anita Roby-Lavery, CZT
R - Rixty by Zentangle
K - Kuke by Katy Abott, CZT

As always, I would love for you to join in the Challenge.  If you have created a tile, over the coming week, please copy and paste the link to your blog, webpage, flickr or picassa account etc into Mr Linky's Magical Widget below so we can all enjoy your tile.

Until next week

Mark 16:5-6
When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, 6 but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth,[b] who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!
